DairyTech Conference Set to Educate on Technology Options

Industry professionals predict the dairy industry will see more changes in the next five years than in the past 15, and technology will be at the forefront, contributing more and more to drastic changes ahead.

To be ready, the industry will have to embrace change and the digital revolution that is quickly transforming businesses and operations throughout the entire dairy sector.

For this reason, the first-ever DairyTech Conference, “Where Dairy + Tech Connect,” will highlight the growing importance of technology and create a gathering place for the dairy industry to connect with technology providers. The event aims to reach top executives and senior management with responsibilities for technology/IT, supply chain, procurement, operations, cybersecurity, and more.

Dairy.com is collaborating with the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) to organize the event scheduled for May 18-20, 2022, at the Austin Marriott Downtown in Austin, Texas.

Scott Sexton, CEO of Dairy.com, says the event will address the complexity and uniqueness of the dairy industry that often goes unaddressed at other technology events. “[This event] truly is the entirety of the dairy industry and the underlying tech capabilities that can support it,” Sexton says in an article, “Inaugural DairyTech Conference will connect dairy industry leaders with technology innovators” in Dairy Foods.
IDFA’s senior vice president of member advancement and innovation, Tom Wojno, says there is a growing need for technology to help the dairy industry grow and succeed. “In our partnership with Dairy.com, we want to help educate the industry on what options are out there, what new technologies are available today, coming at the forefront and in the future, and what it means to implement those,” Wojno adds. The DairyTech Conference will feature two days of keynotes, panel discussions, networking discussions, and evening receptions.

A half-day technology tour is scheduled for May 20. The tour includes several tech companies in the Austin area. “Our members can get hands-on experience and sample technology at the home of these organizations that are at the forefront of some innovations and get a presentation about how they are intersecting with these different retail channels, different processors, and consumer packaged goods companies,” Wojno says.
